Heat stress during pregnancy

Online training on heat stress during pregnancy on May 19, 2026 from 17:30-19:00

According to the sixth assessment report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (2021), heat poses the greatest health risk to people in Europe and Germany due to climate change. Pregnant women, infants and young children are particularly at risk. High temperatures and poor air quality promote premature births, malformations and the risk of pregnant women suffering from pre-eclampsia. It is therefore all the more important that midwives are strengthened in their heat-related professional health skills.

The event will provide an overview of counseling content that is suitable for providing (expectant) families with comprehensive information without stirring up fear. It will also show ways in which pregnant women and young families can prepare for periods of heat.

Speaker: Judith Enkh, midwife, research assistant at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HsH)

Participation in the training course is free of charge.

Interested parties can register by 10.05.2026 at our midwifery center by e-mail or by phone during the specified office hours. The link to the event will be sent by email a few days before the training course.

Maternity care

The introduction of a professional group in the context of pregnancy, birth, postpartum and the first year of life

Maternity nurses accompany women during the sensitive time around pregnancy, birth, postpartum and the first year of life with individually tailored support in the family environment.

But what exactly is the care process like? How does the collaboration between midwife and maternity nurse make sense and can be supportive for the family? How can the care be financed? All these and other questions can be answered in the 2-hour training course on 21.05.2026 from 9.00 - 11.00 am. We have invited two of the maternity nurses working in the Hanover region as speakers. Dana Schlage-Gößl and Michelle Fricke will tell us about their everyday life and work and introduce us to the "world of maternal care".

Interested parties can register by 11.05.2026 at our midwifery center by e-mail or by phone during the specified office hours.
