Oral Restrictions in Infants
A continuing education workshop for midwives on September 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Dentist Anna-Katharina Weigandt has designed a continuing education course for us specifically for midwives on the topic of oral restriction in infants.
Here are the topics you can expect:
Dr. Weigandt will first introduce the anatomical basics and the various classification systems, as well as discuss the range of clinical findings. Many are primarily familiar with the very pronounced restrictions, but even mild to moderate forms—especially at first glance—often lead to significant symptoms in both mother and child.
Next, we’ll discuss practical implementation: What treatment options are available? What are the pros and cons of different surgical techniques? What’s essential during preparation, how is post-operative care structured, and what’s particularly important when supporting parents?
We will accept your registrations until August 10, 2026, at our Midwifery Center via email or by phone during the specified office hours.
As usual, the training is free of charge for midwives registered with us.
News on the pelvic floor for midwives - effective training in the home environment
On 01.10.2026, physiotherapist Ulla Henscher will be available to us as a speaker from 9 am to 4 pm
Special measures are necessary to get the traces of pregnancy, birth and early and late postpartum back under control. Closing the rectus diastasis and normalizing pelvic floor function are the core elements of this work. A basic knowledge of typical pathologies and their treatment such as incontinence, organ prolapse and pain in the pelvic ring are helpful components of this training.
Ms. Henscher will discuss topics such as functional pelvic floor work, adapted abdominal muscle training, pelvic floor-friendly everyday behavior, posture correction and advice on aids (e.g. pessaries) with us and also provide practical exercises.
Ms. Henscher is happy to respond to special needs and questions at any time.
We will accept your registrations until 28.08.2026 by e-mail or by telephone during our specified office hours.
